Hobbies: Reading, singing, swimming, trekking, AI Hackathons, and public speaking
Mehak comes from a family of entrepreneurs and has been inspired by the strong women leaders in her family. She pursued a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting at Xavier’s Institute of Management, and during her undergraduate studies, she interned at one of the Big Four corporations, where she nurtured her analytical and problem-solving skills. Following her bachelor’s degree, Mehak worked for an NGO (Teach for India) renowned for its work in education in underprivileged communities worldwide and for producing broad-thinking, community-oriented leaders through their training. Mehak then entered the marketing field by joining Weber Shandwick, one of the best public relations firms globally.

Recognizing the importance of data patterns in her various experiences, Mehak made a crucial decision to join the Jindal School of Management in the fall of 2022. She pursued the MS Management Science program, appreciating the course’s core management curriculum and the freedom to specialize. She focused on Data Analytics and AI, developing a passion for predictive analysis and the power of automation in business processes. Her active participation in the UT Dallas community, including roles on the Dean’s Council, as a student mentor, and as an officer in Toastmasters and AIMDB clubs, led to her receiving the Nash Leader Award, given to the top 17 students of the graduating class at JSOM.

Mehak gained her first professional experience in the USA while in the MS Management Science program as an intern at Careington International, where she was mentored by IT project leaders and the CIO. As she stands on the threshold of new beginnings, Mehak carries with her a commitment to making a difference in the world, guided by the belief that kindness can truly change the world. She highly recommends the MS Management Science program as a STEM degree, offering the flexibility to tailor one’s degree plan with unlimited options. Are you ready to design your own journey?

Shrutik Dode – Class of 2020

When I decided I wanted to pursue my masters I was bombarded with so many options. Choosing the right option was a tremendous challenge since I had been a working professional and had left my student life behind many years ago. I wanted a degree plan which would give me the freedom to choose courses from both technical and business domains and not restrict myself to a specific track. MSc program was a perfect fit for me. Additionally, as MSc is a STEM program, it gave me the option to have hands-on industry experience after completing my degree. The Program has a lot to offer in terms of career fairs, personal guidance from the professors and non-teaching staff, networking opportunities, resume workshops, etc. I have had the privilege of serving as a Teaching Assistant and was honored to receive in-state tuition scholarship. I am indebted to MSc Program at the Jindal School of Management and want to give back to my school by helping prospective students make an informed decision about joining the program. Please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to assist you. I look forward to hearing from you.
