He has taught Operations Management, Quality Management and Logistics courses at Community colleges. His previous work experience includes positions at: 3M Canada, General Binding Corporation, Magnetek, I2 Technologies, and currently Raytheon Company

Charles is currently a certified ASCM certified instructor and the Head of Supply Chain Governance Group for the Americas at Ericsson. He has demonstrated experience as a supply chain leader focused on the information technology and services industry. Charles is skilled in business processes, strategic sourcing, business support system (BSS), management, and outsourcing.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (B.S.E.T.) focused in mechanical/structural engineering/mechanical technology/technician from The University of Memphis. Charles was the previous VP of Education for the ASCM North Texas Chapter and currently an active board member for the past years.

Vince Mozik is an ASCM Associate Instructor for CPIM, CSCP, Lean, Global Sourcing, and Principles. He holds over 14 years of Fortune 500 supply chain experience across 5 industries ranging from the petroleum, automotive, industrial, electronics, and aerospace sectors. Vince has expertise in identifying and implementing solutions to advance profitability, operations, and team effectiveness.

Currently, Vince is a Planning Manager at Aviall Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. He has held previous positions at Parker Hannifin, American Axle, Jabil Circuit, General Electric, Mitsubishi Motors, and Marathon Oil. Vince holds a MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy and a BBA from Western Michigan University in Integrated Supply Matrix Management.

Terry is an experienced supply chain professional with expertise in inventory management, vendor management, distribution operations, manufacturing planning, contracts negotiation and global strategic sourcing. He has held leadership roles at Motorola, Verizon, Neiman Marcus, and Nokia.

He is a recognized CPIM instructor and has taught courses at local manufacturing companies and universities. Terry received his BS from DePaul University in Operations Management and an MBA in Management from Abilene Christian University.

Jim is Senior Director of Procurement for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Jim has 30 years of experience in purchasing, operations, manufacturing, materials, contracts, project management, supplier and customer relationship management and government purchasing. He has previously held a number of management and leadership positions at Steelcase, Applied Materials, Brooks Instrument, Carrier, Trane and General Electric.

Jim is a six sigma green belt an accomplished CPIM instructor and currently teaches Purchasing and Sourcing Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his BS in Engineering Operations from Iowa State University and MBA in Production and Operations Management from the University of Texas at Tyler.

UTD students will register by logging on to Marketplace, selecting ASCM Prep Course tab and selecting then appropriate prep course.

Community college and university students (i.e., UT Dallas’s students), do not received books and related materials since the registration fee is nominal. If you would like to purchase books/materials, then you should consult with the instructor during the first class session and then purchase directly from the ASCM or from the ASCM North Texas website.

NOTE: Individuals and working professionals who do not hold student status and interested in APCICS prep courses should contact ASCM North Texas for registration and books.

Typically, students can finish the prep courses within six months (see course schedule).

Students must register through ASCM’s website and take the exams accordingly. Upon passing the exams which will be administrated by an external organization such as Pearson, the ASCM will award the certificate to students directly.

Yes, it is strongly recommended to attend and participate in all sessions in order to gain the knowledge required to pass the exams.

Well, the prep courses provide you with knowledge that prepares you to take the ASCM exams. However, participating in the class and not studying after the class would not help you in passing the exams. This means that students need to spend time and study outside of the class time to pass the exams successfully.

No, the registration fee covers the instructional hours only and not the exams. Students are responsible for the cost of ASCM exams. We strongly recommend students to become a member of ASCM to get discounts for exams as well as other valuable information and services. College and university students can become a member of ASCM for free (visit ASCM North Texas for more up-to-date information about membership).

No, the fee for the CPIM prep course is non-refundable.
